Pre-Election Encouragement – November 2, 2016

| Radio

Since the election was all anyone was thinking about anyway, we decided to provide some musical encouragement on Bubble Wrap this week.  But we threw in someunrelated new stuff too, just to keep it interesting.  First off, apologies in advance to purists who think Bruno Mars is too pop for an indie show.  I agree.  But the dirty little secret of IndieDisco and Bubble Wrap is that we love pop no matter how mainstream it may be, but it has to be really really good pop.  So we “like” one major pop hit about every 18 months and right now, it’s “24K Magic.”

Other recent tunes that made the mix were Kikagaku Moyo’s drum and bassy “Green Sugar” and James Leonard Hewitson’s “The Screen,” which is up there with “Headphones” by Aluminum Group for best topical technology single.
