Morning (Never) Comes – March 8, 2017

| Radio

Bubble Wrap Radio continues with new music from Baltimore, the Netherlands, Chicago, New Jersey, and the UK. The Twelve Inch Revolution carries on with numerous Talking Heads extended mixes. No particular theme, just music for the moment.

Favorite song of the evening was The Courtneys “Silver Velvet.”  Riot girls they ain’t but this song has all the girl band joy of the late 90s.

In the camp department, there was “Me Gusta” by Chicago hard rockers Crash Dive.  When it comes to weedly-weedly guitar, this one had it all, rolling through every rock lick from AC/DC to Van Halen.  Their sheer exuberance for 80s rock and roll will win you over.

Lazy Salon are a personal favorite, an offshoot of New Jersey’s Twin Atlas, who I liked a lot back in the Aughts.  Their twin releases “Nesco Gloss” and “Ong’s Hat” are both quirkily wonderful.

Guilty Pleasure: Scritti Politti’s “Oh Patti” with Miles Davis on trumpet….

‘Twas all a groove, tune in sometime.
